Continuity TestNegative CircuitHBF2 Models

To avoid damaging components or troubleshooting equipment, disconnect the battery cables before proceeding1Use an ohmmeter calibrated on high ohms scale or continuity light to test continuity
2Connect one meter lead to electric outboard negative BLACK battery cable Leave this meter lead connected for all the following tests

3Remove bottom cover plate from pedal base Connect second meter lead to pin that will pierce wire at spliceTest for continuity at both sides of splice in BLACK lead in pedal base: Meter must show continuity If meter shows no continuity, repair or replace battery cable connection or splice

Completely reseal wire at test area with ONIC Black Neoprene Dip4Remove the steering housing coverConnect second meter lead to BLACK lead at both sides of splice in steering housing or to pin that will pierce wire at splice Meter must show continuity If meter shows no continuity, repair or replace pedal-tosteering-housing wire
