Continuity TestNegative CircuitHand Control Models
INote To avoid damaging components or troubleshooting equipment, disconnect the battery cables before proceeding1Use an ohmmeter calibrated on high ohms scale or continuity light to test continuity
2Connect one meter lead to BLACK battery cable Leave this meter lead connected for all the following tests
3Remove the steering housing cover
rn 4Connect second meter lead to BLACK 8-Galead at steering housing terminal:
The meter must show continuity If meter shows no continuity, repair or replace battery cables9824
5Move the forward reverse switch to FORWARDToggle is away from handle on bow mount models and toward handle on transom mount models
rn on Connect second meter lead to BLACK 14-Ga(output) 6lead the forward reverse switch:
