Speed ControlVariable Resistor TestP.W.MModels
INotel To avoid damaging components or troubleshooting equipment, disconnect the battery cables before proceeding

1Remove heat shrink tubes from variable resistor terminals, or use pins that can pierce wire cover at variable resistor
2Turn speed control wheel to OFF positionfully clockwise looking at variable resistor shaft end3Set ohmmeter to high ohms scale
4Connect ohmmeter to variable resistor terminals, or to pins and pierce wire insulation of ORANGE wire and of BLACK wire Ohmmeter should show about 9,000-10,000 ohms, when connected to the controller
5Turn variable resistor slowly counterclockwise through full speed range Ohmmeter must show continuously decreasing resistanceThere must be no jumps to high resistance6Turn variable resistor counterclockwise to full speed position Ohmmeter must show approximately zero resistance at full counterclockwise position
