Circuit Verification, Instrument Harness To make sure the OIVIC System Check TMengine monitor can alert the operator during LOW OIL, NO OIL, FUEL RESTRICTION, or engine OVERHEAT condition, it is very important to verify the condition of the sensors and associated wiringTest the engine monitor regularly and anytime you suspect an alert situation has been missed
INote The instrument harness must be connected to the engine
before performing the following testsVerify the condition of all wiring and connectors before proceeding
The warning horn will not sound while in the diagnostic

Use jumper wires made with the appropriate termi nals to test the warning circuits
System Check Gauge

1Turn the key switch to ON position, engine not running The gauge warning lights for NO OIL, WATER TEMP, CHECK ENGINE, and LOW OIL must all light at once, then turn off in sequence, and the warning horn must sound for 12 second
2Ifthe gauge lights do notturn on, turn the key switch OFFDisconnect the gauge 8-pin connector and turn the key switch ONTest for battery voltage between instrument harness purple wire, terminal1", and black wire, terminal "2" If battery voltage is present, replace the gauge If no battery voltagecheck condition of the instrument harness, key switch, and engine 20-amp fuse 3If the lights worked, but the warning horn did not sound for 12 second, turn the key switch OFFDisconnect the warning horn 2-pin connectorSubstitute known good warning hornTurn the key switch ON Ifthe substitute horn beeps, the original horn is defective and must be replaced
