Careful analysis of the electric motorhydraulic unit current requirements allows evaluation of the electric motor and certain mechanical componentsUse battery rated at 360 CCA (50 amp-hr) or higher that is in good condition and fully charged to perform this testThe specifications contained in the chart are for static hydraulic testsDo not attempt to perform the following tests while the boat is under power

1Connect 0-60 amp DC ammeter in series between the battery side of the starter solenoid and the red 14-gauge lead of the trim junction box2Observe the ammeter and stopwatch while running the hydraulic unit through several complete cycles Range (0-15) represents the engine's trim range Range (16-65) represents the engine's tilt range3Compare your test results to the values listed in the chart for your specific motor style4As you interpret your test results, there are three basic possibilities:
