Power Supply Troubleshooting
Refer to appropriate POWER TRIM 'N TILT foldout at rear of manual
Before beginning this procedure:
Charge battery and connect battery cables Turn key switch OFF, and remove key Remove the clip from the emergency stop switchAll tests are made from the RELAY SIDE of the trimtilt relay sockets1Connect voltmeter black lead to clean engine ground2Check for voltage at battery side of starter solenoid If no voltage at starter solenoid, check battery and wiring If voltage at starter solenoid, go to Step (or Step 12, if problem is only with tilt downtrim in)UP CIRCUIT

3Mark UP and DOWN relays, and remove relays from relay sockets4Connect voltmeter red lead to Vl and black lead to V2 If no voltage at Vl, check red wire between starter solenoid terminal and relay socketsIf red wire is OK, check black wire between relay sockets and engine ground If voltage at Vl, go to Step 55Connect voltmeter black lead to clean engine ground, and voltmeter red lead to V3 (bluewhite)6Push UP trim button If no voltage at V3, check trim switch and wiring, and go to Step If voltage at V3, go to Step 77Push lower motor cover UP trim button If no voltage at V3, check for voltage at bluewhite bullet connector out of lower motor cover trim switchCheck for voltage at red connector that supplies lower motor cover switch If switch and wire is OK, make next test
