Battery Recommendations
For each motor, provide one battery that is: 12-volt, heavy-duty, designated "marine" Ventedrefillable or maintenance-free Meet or exceed the minimum battery recommendations

Deep-cycle batteries are suitable IF they meet or exceed the minimum CCA requirements
Installation
Install each battery where it is protected from the elements and held in place during boating operation, yet accessible for maintenance and periodic checkingTighten the hold-down or strap evenly and securely, but not to the extent that it distorts or damages the caseIf you use battery box, it must be vented and the lid installed so the connectors are insulated

to prevent their shorting or arcing and causing an explosionIf the battery mounting system does not cover the connections, install protective coversCheck often to see that connections stay clean and tightcame with the batteryWing nuts can loosen and cause errant warning signals or electrical system damage
