Installation
1Install the flywheel key with its outer edge parallel to centerline of crankshaft and single upset mark facing down2Clean the crankshaft and flywheel tapers with OIIK: Cleaning Solvent and let dryThese surfaces must be clean and dry to allow proper locking of the tapers
3Align the flywheel keyway and install flywheelCoat the threads of the flywheel nut with OIIK: Gasket Sealing CompoundInstall the nut and torque to 100-105 ftIbs(136-142 Nm) using the flywheel holding tool as drawn on Page 3-6 and three PI 309492 screws from OIIK: Universal Puller Set, PIN 378103, or other suitable tool to hold the flywheelrect maximum spark advance using the procedure outlined in Section 1Encoder Servicing Check all the window styles of the encoder for broken cracked corners or an accumulation of dirtClean or replace the encoder if neededApply ow:: Locquic Primer and OMC Nut Lock to the three retaining screws Tighten the screws to 24-36 inIbs(2,7-4,1 Nm)
