Cleaning and Inspection
To avoid personal injury, wear eye protection and rubber gloves when using OMC Gel Seal and Gasket Remover1Use OMC Gel Seal and Gasket Remover to remove all traces of gasket material on all mounting surfaces
2Clean and inspect all oil pump components and oil strainerCheck for excess wear or damage

4Check the exhaust housing for distortion Place the housing on surface plateUsing dial indicator, check flatness by measuring the run -out on the top edge of the housingThe max imum allowable run -out is 0.009 in(0,228 mm)If you do not have access to dial indicator and surface plate, seek the services of machine shopDO NOT attempt to straighten distorted housing; replace it
