2Use OMC Gel Seal and Gasket Remover to remove all traces of gaskets and adhesives from the cylinder head 3Carefully remove any carbon accumulation from the tops and ring grooves of the piston ring groove cleaning tool can be made by breaking an old ring and grinding an angle on its end Do not damage ring grooves while cleaning4Thoroughly wash entire cylinder head with warm, soapy water to remove all traces of contaminants
& To avoid personal injury, wear eye protection and set compressed air pressure at less than 25 PSI (172 kPa)5Air dry cylinder headBlowout all holes and passageways with compressed air6Cover cylinder walls with liberal amount of Johnson or Evinrude Ultra 4-Stroke Crankcase Oil to protect from corrosion Inspection 1Prior to any inspection process, all internal components must be clean and free of excess oil2Inspect all internal componentsCheck for unusual wear patterns, scuffing or deterioration of parts, heat-related discolora ion of bearings or bearing surfaces, and broken components
