Powerhead Servicing Engine Timing and Belt Replacement
To avoid accidental starting of engine, twist and remove all spark plug leads before beginning service1Loosen screw retaining flywheel 3-4 turns
2Assemble the following components from OIVIC Universal Puller Set, PIN 378103: Body, PI 307636 Screw, PI 307637 Handle, PI 307638 Screws, Washers, PI 437957
Pressing
3Install the puller on flywheel with body flat side upSeat the shoulder screws completelyHold puller by its handle and tighten pressing screw until flywheel releases4Remove the flywheel
5Remove screws retaining stator and starter motor bracketRemove stator, disconnect MAP sensor, and move wires to allow access
rn 6.tighten screws to hold screws and move tensioner to allow Loosen belt tensioner slack; tensioner[] 7Move bracket for access and remove belt from pulleys[] 8Align camshaft pulley No.1 indentation mark with extrusion on cylinder head; align holes in crankshaft pulley belt guides with extrusion on cylinder block
