5Slide stator Place two washers
over armature and position in rear coveron armature
6Slide front cover onto armatureAlign front cover, stator, and rear cover with scribed marksInstall two thru-bolts and tighten to 36-60 inIbs(4-7 Nm)
7Wear Safety GlassesPlace pinionthen springon end of armature shaftPlace pinion stopper on spring Pull down on stopper and install two retaining rings Make sure retaining rings completely engage armature shaft and stopper
Installation 1Apply CIVIC Nut Lock to threads of screws from mounting bracketPosition starter in bracket and install screwsTorque to 15-18 ftIbs(20-24 Nm)2Install starter band clamp and tighten screws securely3Reconnect positive (+) cable to starterTorque nut to 8-10 ftIbs(11-14 Nm) and install cable bootReconnect negative (-) cable to starterTorque screw to 8-10 ftIbs(11 -14 Nm)&
4Install flywheel and make sure bolt is tightened to specificationsInstall flywheel cover5Install air silencer cover6Reconnect battery cables at battery
