safety glasses while disassembling and assembling manual starters because of rewind spring tension 1Install mandrel (Kit, PI 342682) in vice and place spring around mandrel as shown
2Place housing over mandrel and route hook end of spring through housing opening3Place pulley, with shield, over mandrelSecure with pulley retainer (flat toward pulley) and left hand thread nut (Kit, PIN 342682)46672
4Pull lightly on spring to eliminate slack and turn pulley counterclockwise with handle (Kit, PI 342682) until spring hook engages pulley hub slot5Turn pulley counterclockwise to pull spring all the way into housing 6Allow pulley to slowly unwind until ension is relieved
