[] 6Install the upper pinion bearing using OMC Pinion Bearing Installer, PI 31987838 -16 6112 inboltand wide washer Assemble the tools with lettered side of the bearing facing the installerDraw the upper pinion bearing into the gearcase until tool contacts gearcaseDisassemble tool components Assemble the tools with the lower pinion bearing facing installer toolDraw the lower pinion bearing into the gearcase until tool contacts gearcase[] 7If removed, position new forward bearing race in the gearcaseUsing OMC Bearing Cup Installer, PIN 326025, and mallet, drive the bearing race into its bore until it is seated[] 8The forward gear and bearing cone are serviced as an assemblyThe bearing is also serviced separatelyReplace worn or damaged components
