1m 17 Inspect the driveshaft bearing in placeIf necessary, remove the bearing and sleeve using the slide hammer and OIVIC Two-Jaw Puller, PIN 391012The jaws of the puller must be reversed so the jaw tips are facing inwardUse stiff rubber band to keep the jaws together18Inspect the pinion bearings in placeIf necessary, remove the bearings using OIVIC Bearing Remover, PIN 319880Place shop cloth inside the gearcase to catch the bearings and toolIf pinion bearings are removed for any reasonthey must be replaced
19install the gearcase head into the gearcase with the two screws, finger tightUsing OIVIC Small Puller Assembly, PI 432131, remove propeller shaft sealinstalling the puller on the seals, be sure the jaws catch the seals and not the bushing in the gearcase head 20Remove the driveshaft seals from the gearcase cover using OVJC Puller Bridge, PI 432127, and OIVIC Small Puller, PIN 43213121 Remove the shift rod bushing from the gearcase cover by prying it out with the shift rodRemove and discard O-ring
