10Coat the shift rod a-ring with OMC Triple-Guard grease and install in shift rod bushing 11Place new washer and bushing on OMC Shift Rod Bushing Installer, PIN 304515Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Com pound to the outside diameter of the shift rod bushingUsing mallet, drive the bushing into the gearcase
12Oil and place the forward bearing cone and roller assembly in the forward bearing cup
13To install the forward gear and the shifter lever and yoke assembly, begin by threading OMC Yoke Locator, PIN 319991, through the shift rod bushing and into the shifter yoke Remove the cradle from the yoke Then, while pulling on the yoke locator, guide the assembly into the gearcaseThe forward gear should come to rest against the forward bearing, and the shift lever should be located in the slot at the bottom of the gearcase
