6Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to O-ring and install on pivot tubePush O-ring into swivel bracket until it stopsInstall the lower thrust washer on pivot tube and seat against bracket7Apply OMC Nut Lock to screw threads and install steering bracket on tubeTorque screws to 18-20 ftIbs(24-27 Nm)
8Install the two lower side mounts, lower front mount, and shift rod grommet
9Position the swivel bracket to the housing and install the two lower mount bracketsApply CIVIC Nut Lock to threads of screws and torque to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)10Install gearcase, powerhead, and lower engine covers as described in appropriate sections

Removal 1Remove the powerhead as described in Section 42Remove the gearcase as described in Section 6[] 3Remove two screws securing the lower mount housings[] 4Remove the lower mount housingsthrust mountand the two lower side mounts to free the exhaust housing from the swivel bracket assembly5Refer to Cleaning and Inspection at the beginning of this section Installation 1Slide the exhaust housing into the swivel bracket[] 2Place the two lower side mounts into the two lower mount housingsPut the port housing in place, insert the thrust mountand position the starboard housingSecure the lower mounts with screws
