INote The remote control cables must be installed on the engine
3Loosen detent spring adjustment screwand remove neutral lockout link connector from shift lever
4Verify gearcase is in NEUTRAL positionMove the detent spring to fully engage notch of the shift lever detentTighten detent adjustment screw5Move neutral lockout link to position starter lockout plunger in horizontal position6Adjust connector on the neutral lockout link to maintain starter lockout plunger in horizontal position when connector is installed on shift lever
