17Press detent lever down to engage REVERSE (lowest) positionDoing so will provide clearance to install the clutch shaft assembly18Note the position of the locating pin at the front of the housingThe pin must engage corresponding recess inside the nose of the gearcase
19Tip the rear of gearcase slightly downwardThis will help hold the housing, washer, bearing, and gear together, as well as keep the detent lever depressedInstall the clutch shaft assemblyMake sure the locating pin is properly engaged after the assembly is installed20Lubricate two new shift rod cover a-rings with OIVIC Triple-Guard greaseInstall the a-rings into the shift rod cover
