Water Pump Servicing If the gearcase has been in service for any length of time, it is good policy to install water pump repair kitTo install the repair kit, proceed as follows :
Removal
1Remove the four screws retaining the impeller housing to the gearcaseRotate the driveshaft counterclockwise to unlock the impeller cam
2Slide the water pump assembly off the driveshaftRemove the impeller drive camimpeller O-ringimpeller plateand impeller plate gasket Discard the gasketDisassemblyAssembly
1Start by removing all the parts from the housingInspect the housing for cracks or melting2Apply drop of OMC Adhesive sealant in the seal ring groove at each of the four ribs, as shown Do not allow any adhesive to get into the air bleed groove in the impeller housingIfthis groove is blocked by adhesive, the pump may lose its prime and not pump water
