28Position the washers on the driveshaft bearing housing screwsApply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the screws Install and tighten screws to torque of 168-192 inIbs(19-22 m)29V6Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to the small thrust washer Place the small thrust washer in recess of reverse gear

30Oil, then install the thrust bearing and thrust washer on the hub of the reverse gearSlide the reverse gear onto the propeller shaft until it engages the pinion
31Carefully apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to the -ring flange of the bearing housingDo not allow sealer to contact either forward thrust surface or bearing in the housing
32Thoroughly clean aft support flange bore area of gearcase and aft support flange of the bearing housing Apply RTV sealer to aft support flange of bearing housing
33Install the housing in the gearcase with screw holes in vertical position and anode facing downPress the bearing housing into the gearcase and tap the housing with soft face mallet to seat the -ring
