Before working on any part of the outboard, read the section called Safety at the end of this manualWhen replacement parts are required, use genuine OIVIC parts or parts with equivalent characteristics including type, strength, and materialFailure to do so may result in product malfunction and possible injury to the operator andor passengersTo prevent possible eye injury, always wear SAFETY GLASSES while servicing the unitAlways read and follow safety related precautions found on containers of hazardous substances like parts cleaners, primers, sealants, and sealant removersReplace any locking fastener (locknut or patch screw) if its locking feature becomes weakDefinite resistance to tightening must be felt when reusing locking fastenerIf replacement is indicated, use only authorized replacement or equivalentBefore starting any fuel system disassembly, carefully relieve fuel system pressureProtect against hazardous fuel spray by attaching suitable device to the vapor separator test point and slowly release pressureHave container available to catch residual fuel
