INote Securely fasten
starter in vise or other suitable fixture before proceeding with this check
1Locate battery rated at 500 CCA (60 amp-hr) or higher that is in good condition and fully charged
2Connect 0-100 amp ammeter in series with heavy jumper between the battery "+" terminal and the starter "+" terminal24083
3Attach or hold vibration tachometer, such as Frahm Reed tachometer, to the starter
4Complete the circuit with heavy jumper between the battery "_" terminal and the starter frame
