FFI Overview The function of OVIC's FFr (FICHT Fuel Injection) sequential, direct-injection fuel system is to efficiently supply fuel under all engine load, temperature, and RPM conditionsThe benefits of FFI include quick starting, improved fuel economy, excellent throttle response, and greatly reduced exhaust emissionsFFI involves the interaction of various fuel, oil, ignition, and electrical componentsAll work together under the direction of an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) Oil injection, both to the fuel system and crankcase, is ECU controlled and pressure regulated Technician diagnostic procedures are simple; the ECU stores service codes and delivers real-time data Critical circuits are fused or controlled by relays, and are easily accessed by the operator in centrally located power distribution panel Various sensors monitor engine running conditions; operator warning systems like System Check TM and SLO.WTM are standard features Vapor lock and hot soak problems are eliminated by an externally vented, water cooled, fuel vapor separator The ignition system is high-frequency, multi-strike CD system that generates variable spark profile to exactly meet combustion requirements The ECU is water cooled, and controls the ignition coils' primary circuit operation These are only few of OVIC's FFI system featuresThe pages that follow will cover all in more detail
