40Remove the outside seals from the trim cylinder end capsThere is an a-ring and back-up ringone of two different designsNewer nylon seals will be continuous ring of nylonOlder seals are split41Using smooth flat tool, remove the scraper from the trim end capPry the scraper out of the groove in the end capDiscard the scraper42Using the same smooth flat tool, remove the a-ring from the end capsDiscard the a-ringsClean both end caps and scrape all corrosion or loose paint from the threads in the outside a-ring area43There are two different types of seals in the trim end caps The one pictured on the left is an a-ring The one pictured on the right is quad-ring The quad-ring is used for service
