8Using either OMC Tilt Cylinder End Cap Remover, PI 326485, or OMC Universal Spanner Wrench, PIN 912084, and breaker bar, remove the tilt cylinder end capOnce the threads are completely disengaged, slide the tilt cylinder rod and piston out of the cylinder
9Inspect the bore of the tilt cylinder for excessive scoringReplace the tilt cylinder if excessive scoring is present103-Cylinder and V4Service the piston and rod assembly:
aUsing OMC Hydraulic Cylinder Rod Holder, PIN 983213, clamp the rod tightly in viseRemove the nut and washer from the piston end of the rodbSlide the tilt piston off the rodRemove the outer O-ring and the four valve assemblies which consist of springplungerand check ball Three of the four springs are one length, and the fourth spring is another lengthUpon reassembly, these springs can be put in any positionInspect the outer O-ring from the piston and the O-ring that was around the rodReplace the O-rings if necessaryReassemble the piston by placing one ball, one plunger, and one spring in each of the four holes in the pistonPlace the outside O-ring on the pistoncUsing sharp screwdriver, pry the scraper out of the end capDiscard the scraperdPry the O-ring out of the end cap using flat toolOnce the scraper and O-ring have been removed from the end cap, the outside O-ring can be removedClean the cap thoroughlyDiscard the O-rings
