19Remove retainer ring
if requiredDiscard retainer ring
20To assemble bearings to driveshaft, install new retaining ring (if removed) on the driveshaftApply light coat of OIVIC Marine Wheel Bearing Grease to the bearing and driveshaft pressing surfacesPosition the lower bearing on the driveshaft with the lettered side of bearing facing away from the retaining ringPress against inner race of the bearing until it contacts the ring21Lubricate the upper bearingPosition the upper bearing on the driveshaft with lettered side of bearing facing away from the lower bearingPress against inner race of the bearing until it contacts the lower bearing
22Using retaining ring pliers, install retaining ring with sharp edge facing outMake sure the retaining ring is seated in its groove in the driveshaftWear safety glasses and proceed with care to avoid unsnapping the ring from the pliers23Install thrust washer against upper bearing with dished center section facing upwardPlace upper seal carrier assembly onto the driveshaftApply OIVIC Triple-Guard grease to two new O-rings and install on upper seal carrier24Fill bearing housing cavity with OIVIC Marine Wheel Bearing Grease
