21Inspect ball bearing at lower end of crankshaft and remove if damagedUse retaining ring pliers to remove retaining ring under bearingUse OMC Universal Puller, PIN 378103, with four -28 inscrews threaded into the tapped holes in the bearing retainer plate to remove bearing22The center journal needle bearings and bearing races CD may be removed by removing the retaining ring Q) and separating the two halves of each bearingNote retaining ring groove in bearing race faces bottom of crankshaft23Remove the rings from the pistons with suitable ring expanding toolInstall new ring sets on every powerhead overhaul24Using tool as drawn on Page 4-9, or OMC Retaining Ring Pliers, PIN 325937, remove the wrist pin retaining ringsDiscard the rings
