Take note of which direction 90 fitting is pointing before removing itPlace drop of Evinrude or Johnson Outboard Lubricant on thin a-rings (pulse fitting and fuel inlet fitting) to ease installa tionWhenever thread-forming screw is reinstalled in plastic part, always remove all oil from hole and screwTurn screw backwards until it drops into original threads, then turn screw forwardIf screw is allowed to form new threads with each use, or ifthere is any oil in hole or on screw, screw will deform material until the screw pulls outIf fitting must be positioned directly over one of the retainer screws, put drop of oil on the fitting and tighten that screw firstCarefully rotate the fitting over the tightened screw (using Phillips screwdriver in fitting as lever), and then tighten the other screwDo not use pliers to turn fitting and do not scratch the hose sealing surface of fittingTighten fitting retainer screws only until retainer bottoms against housingDo not overtighten
