28Install new seal in the bearing housing using OVIC Seal Installer, PI 341439Apply oil to the casing of the seal before installingInstall the seal with exposed lip facing away from the bearing housingPress the seal into the housing until the tool seats29Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lips after installing
30Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to the thrust bearing Position bearing around shoulder on the propeller shaft31Apply OMC Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to the thrust washer Place washer in recess of bearing housing32Coat bearing surfaces of propeller shaft with gearcase oilSlide the propeller housing on the propeller shaftUse caution when assembling the propeller shaft in the bearing housingThrust bearing must remain around shoulder on the propeller shaft33Lightly oil the threads of the forward gear assemblyCarefully start the threads into the housing, and screw it in by hand as far as possibleTighten the gear assembly to torque of 100 ftIbs(136 Nm) using OVIC Spanner Wrench, PI 43240034Attach the anode and tighten the screws to torque of 170-190 inIbs(19-21 Nm)
