18Remove thrust washer and collar Remove retainer ring if required
from driveshaft
19If removed, install retaining ring in groove of the driveshaftInstall collar with step of it facing down, and install thrust washer with bow side of it facing up
INotel Failure to install bearing, with letter side (wide thrust shoulder) facing downward toward the impeller end of the driveshaft, will cause premature bearing failure
20To assemble bearing to driveshaft, place bearing on the press with lettered side (wide thrust shoulder) facing downApply light coat of CWIC Marine Wheel Bearing Grease to the bearing and driveshaft pressing surfacesPress bearing onto shaft until bearing makes contact with retaining ring
21Using retaining ring pliers, install snap ring with sharp edge of it facing away from bearingMake sure the retaining ring is seated in its groove in the driveshaftWear safety glasses and proceed with care to avoid unsnapping the ring from the pliers22Place spacer and seal carrier assembly onto the driveshaftApply CWIC Triple-Guard grease to two new O-rings and install on seal carrierFill bearing housing cavity with CWIC Marine Wheel
