Make no dry assembliesLubricate bearings, shafts, and gear with OMC Ultra-HPF gearcase lube
1Oil the small bearing and install in the propeller shaft bearing housing using OMC Bearing Installer, PIN 339751Press against the lettered side of the bearing when installing
rn 2Oil the large bearingBearinginstall in the propeller Press and shaft bearing housing using OMC Installer, PIN 339751
against the lettered side of the bearing when installing
3Use OMC Seal Installer, PIN 342663, to install new seal in the rear of the bearing housingApply DPL penetrating lubricant to the casing of the seal before installingInstall the seal with the exposed lip facing away from the bearing housingPress the seal into the housing until the tool seatsApply OMC Triple-Guard grease to the seal lips after installing4Apply OMC Triple-Guard grease to new bearing housing -ringPlace the a-ring in the bearing housing groove
5To install the forward bearing cup into the gearcase, remove the gearcase from the holding fixture, and place the nose of it on wooden blockDrive in the bearing cup with mallet and OMC Bearing Cup Installer, PI 319929, attached to OMC Drive Handle, PI 311880[] 6Install the pinion bearings using the following components of OMC Universal Pinion Bearing Remover and Installer, PIN 391257, and one additional tool spacer:
