19Thoroughly clean and degrease the crankcase mating flange of the cylinder block with CIVIC Cleaning Solvent and let air dry20Apply OIVIC Locquic Primer to the mating flange of the crankcase and let air dry

21Apply CIVIC Gel-Seal II to the cylinder block flangeThe application must cover the flange evenly and consistently without being excessiveThe application must not come within 1f4 in(6,4 mm) of the labyrinth seals or bearings
INote CIVIC Gel-Seal II has shelf life of at least one year when
stored at room temperature Test the OIVIC Gel-Seal II or replace it if the age of the tube can not be determinedUsing old OIVIC Gel-Seal II could cause crankcase air leaks22Lower the crankcase into place

23Lightly coat threads of the six main bearing screws with CIVIC Gel-Seal IIInstall the screws finger tight
I1TI 24When the crankcase is seated, install and firmly seat the
crankcase taper pin25Using soft face mallet, lightly tap bottom ofthe crankshaft to seat the lower main bearing
