Ignition Plate Servicing20 thru 30 Removal
1To avoid accidental starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove all spark plug leads2If equipped, remove the manual starterSee Section 73Remove the flywheelRefer to Flywheel Servicing
[] 4Loosen the five screws attaching the ignition plate to the retainer plateLift the ignition plate from the powerhead
5Remove the four pilot ring screws Lift the retainer, ring, thrust washer, and pilot ring (with washers) from the powerheadInstallation
1Place the thrust washer, ring, retainer plate, and pilot ring on the powerheadAlign pilot ring with four screw holes in powerheadApply CWIC Nut Lock to threads of the four pilot ring screws Install the screws and tighten them to torque of 48-60 inIbs(5-7 Nm)Be sure washers are placed between the pilot ring and powerhead
