12Insert small screwdriver under one end of the clutch dog spring and remove it from the groove by unwrapping it around the clutch dogDiscard the spring
13Push the pin out of the clutch dogThe bearing housing assembly will now pullout of the end of the propeller shaft and the clutch dog will slide off the splines14Pull the forward gear, thrust bearing, and thrust washer off the bearing housing
15Push out the shift lever pin Disengage the shifter shaft and cradle from the shift lever Remove the shift leverWear safety glassesThe detent ball and spring can come out with great force while removing the detent16Put shop cloth around the housingRotate the detent lever 900 in either direction, then pull the detent lever out of the housing&
