11If removed, install new lower main bearingWhen pressing on the bearing, support the crankshaft between the two lower counterweights, and press against the lettered side of the bearing12Install the main bearing retaining ring with its square, sharp edge facing away from the bearing13Oil and install the two main bearing assembliesThe split sleeve retaining rings should face away from the flywheel taper
14Apply CIVIC Gasket Sealing Compound to new upper crankshaft seal's outside diameterUse CIVIC Seal Installer, PIN 326567, to install the sealSeal lip must face bearing15Lightly coat new upper main bearing a-ring with OMC Triple-Guard grease
