STEPRUNNING OUTPUT TEST
1Twist and remove primary lead from ignition coil
rn primaryaposttwist to install Stevens NoTS-77 terminal extender, or equivalent, to ignition 2Use clockwise coil rn 3Install primary lead on terminal extenderINote Route all tester leads so they do not interfere with
4Set peak-reading voltmeter to "POS" and "500" moving engine parts
rn 5Connect meter red lead to terminal extenderConnect meter black lead to clean engine ground6Start engine and run under load at RPM where ignition problem exists: Meter must show 220 volts or higher, 56 models or 240 volts or higher on 89.9 models If test shows low output, go to STEPCHARGE COil TEST If test shows no output, go to STEPPOWER PACK TEST7Remove terminal extenderInstall ignition coil primary lead
