3Remove the rope guide shoulder screw and guide from the starter housing
[[] 4Remove the screw retaining he starter lockout lever Q), lockout lever springs Q), starter housing washerand pulley support with screw
[]] 5Remove the nut
from the starter pawl retaining screw
6Remove the starter pawl retaining screwwasherand starter pawl plate with plate return spring from the starter assembly
[[] 7Remove the starter housing spring and the starter pawl with spring washer CD from the starter assembly
8Using screwdriver, pry open the pulley lock ringand remove ring from the starter
9Remove the friction plates washer
and friction plate spring
