3Mark the position of the water tube for correct reassemblyRemove the water tube cover screwsSeparate the water tube cover, grommetsand water tube from the adapter4Remove the inner exhaust housing from the adapterDiscard the adapter to exhaust housing gasket
Assembly
1Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to both sides of new adapter to exhaust housing gasketPlace the gasket on the adapter2Secure the inner exhaust housing to the adapter
3Slide one water tube grommet and the water tube
down the water tubePlace second water tube grommet
bore of the adapterAlign the water tube and secure the cover to the adapter4Slide the inner exhaust housing and the adapter into the outer exhaust housingSecure the adapter to the outer exhaust housing[] 5Install the two lower side mounts to the exhaust housingTighten the screws to torque of 18-20 ftIbs(25-27 Nm)Install the thrust mount to the housing and tighten the screws to torque of 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)[6Check condition of the shift rod seal and replace if necessaryInstallation
