4Remove the exhaust relief plate Discard the gasket
Assembly
1Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to new exhaust relief gasketPosition the gasket and plate
2Install the exhaust relief baffleApply OMC HT 400 to threads of the retaining screwsInstall and tighten the screws to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)3Check the condition of the following componentsReplace if necessary
Lower inner exhaust housing seal Exhaust relief grommet, lower engine cover seal Lower crankcase head grommet
Shift rod grommet 4Apply OMC Gel-Seal I to the top flange of the outer exhaust housing5Install the inner exhaust housing into the outer exhaust housing[] 6Apply OMC Gasket Sealing Compound to threads of the four inner exhaust housing retaining screwsInstall and tighten the screws to 60-84 inIbs(7-9 Nm)Installation
