7Using OMC Cone, PI 318600, and Driver, PI 318599, install new wrist pin retaining rings in each wrist pin holeGap of the retaining ring faces down, away from notch in piston8Repeat Steps thru for each piston
9Install piston rings on each pistonInstall each piston ring set on the piston that was used to test the ring clearancesSpread each ring with ring expander just enough to slip it over the head of the piston and down into placeBe sure gap of ring fits squarely around dowel pin
10Coat pistons, rings, cylinders, and OMC Ring Compressor, PI 326592 (PI 330222 for oversize), with outboard lubricant
11Center connecting rod in position and locate piston rings on their dowel pinsWith the word "UP" on dome of piston facing flywheel end of crankshaft, slide piston into its respective cylinder bore while guiding the connecting rod through the blockThe piston rings must be correctly located on their dowel pins or permanent powerhead damage will occur
