Fuel Pump Testing Before replacing suspect fuel pump, remove and clean the fuel filter or install new filter elementAlso remove the fuel line from the fuel tank and blow through all passages and lines with low-pressure, compressed air to be sure they are openA blocked fuel line could be the cause of inadequate fuel delivery and, if so, would eliminate unnecessary servicing or replacement of the fuel pumpIf this procedure does not correct the trouble, fuel pump is probably malfunctioning and should be repaired or replaced
INote To prevent excessive fuel spillage, disconnect line connector at outboard before disassembly
& After servicing,

check for leaks by connecting fuel line to outboard and squeezing primer bulb until definite resistance is felt in bulbTo install new filter element, loosen screw, and remove cover Do not lose small a-ring from around center post or large a-ring from outer edge of coverWash filter element with clean solvent and brushDR3000
