Test VRO Warning Signals Test "LOW OIL" Signal

1Remove Torx assembly screws and lift oil pickup assembly out of oil tank2Connect the outboard battery cables to battery
3Turn the key switch ONThe OMC System Checkengine monitor will go through its self-test With the pickup assembly out of the oil, the System Check gauge "LOW OIL" light should turn ON after the self-test, and the warning horn should sound for 10 seconds If the light does not turn ON and warning horn sound, test the LOW OIL CircuitRefer to OMC System Check Engine Monitor, Section 8
4Reinstall the oil pickup assembly in the oil tank With the oil tank over full, turn the key switch ONThe "LOW OIL" light should not turn back ON after the self-testTest "NO OIL" Signal
1Connect shop tank with 50: fueloil mixture to the outboard fuel inlet fitting
2Carefully remove the oil supply hose from the VROoil inlet fitting
3Start the outboard and run at 1500 RPM in gear[]] 4After the residual oil is exhausted from the pump (may take several minutes), the System Check gauge "NO OIL" light should turn ON, and the warning horn should sound for 10 seconds If light turns ON and horn sounds, warning signal is OKGo to Test Oil Pump "Self Priming" Feature If no lig ht or horn: Go to Step 5
