37Fill the gearcase with 9-11 floz(264-330 ml) lubricant as follows: Secure the gearcase in an upright position Remove the oil level and oil fill drain plugsReplace the seals if damaged Fill the gearcase with CIVIC Ultra-HPF gearcase lube until lubricant appears at the oil level holeInsert the oil level plug firstInstall the fill drain plugTighten the oil level and filldrain plugs to 84-86 in Ibs(9-10 Nm) Inspect the gearcase oil level after the motor test has been performed38Install water pump assembly as described in Water Pump Servicing, this sectionInstallation 1Coat the driveshaft splines with CIVIC Moly LubeDo not coat top surface of the driveshaft as the lubricant here may prevent seating of the driveshaft in the crankshaftCoat upper shift rod with CIVIC Triple-Guard grease2Temporarily install the upper shift rod connector on the gearcase lower shift rodInstallation of the gearcase will not allow the upper shift rod connector to be installed at later time3Install the gearcase onto the exhaust housingSee that the driveshaft engages the crankshaftRotate the flywheel, if necessary[] 4Apply CIVIC Gasket Sealing Compound to the threads of the gearcase retaining screwsInstall and tighten the six screws to 192-216 inIbs(22-25 Nm)[5Slide the upper connector half and install the plastic keeper onto the upper shift rod
