1To avoid accidental starting while servicing engine, twist and remove spark plug leads2Remove three starter housing screwsRemove starter-1
Rope Replacement Wear safety glasses to perform this procedure
1Remove snap ring, pawl and linkage
2Pull rope out completely, install handle (Kit PI 342682) on pawl pin and secure with tie strap around starter leg and handle3Remove rope from pulley channel, untie knot and remove rope from starter assembly
[] 4Remove rope from anchor and replace with new rope
