Removal
1Remove port and starboard engine coversSee Section 22To avoid starting of engine while servicing, twist and remove spark plug lead
IJJ 3Remove two screws retaining fuel tank

1Pull out starter rope and tie slipknot to relieve spring tension while removing handleRemove two screws and washer retaining motor cover panel Untie knot in end of rope and remove handle2Pull starter rope out to limitHold pulley firmly so it will not rewind and release slipknotCarefully allow pulley to slowly rotate until it is fully unwound
