25If the water intake screen cannot be unplugged by cleaning, replace it:
Remove screw on starboard side of gearcase above screenPlace screwdriver on each side of the intake screen under the locating tabsSimultaneously, press screwdrivers in and up on both sides to free the screen
Install new screen :
Place port side in first, wide end downPush down and to the side until screen bottoms in cavityPlace starboard side in, and press down until screen snaps into placeMake sure both sides are in proper positionReinstall screwPropeller Shaft Bearing Housing Service
1Remove the seal using OMC Puller Bridge, PI 432127, and OMC Small Puller Jaws, PIN 432131Position the plate on top of the housing to support the bridge, and tighten the jaws securely behind the sealInspect bearings in placeIf bearing is removed for any reason, it must be discarded
2Remove either bearing using OMC Puller Bridge, PI 432127, and OMC Large Puller Jaws, PI 432129Rest the puller plate on top of the housing to support the bridge, and tighten the jaws securely behind the bearing 3Discard the bearing housing O-ringsClean the housing and bearings in solvent and dry thoroughlyIf bearings were not repaced, rotate the needles with your fingers to check for freedom of movement4Inspect the bearing housing anodeReplace anode if it has eroded to two-thirds its orginal size (one-third eroded) 5Inspect O-ring grooves, and sand off any sharp edges that would cut O-ring and prevent its sealingCheck for and remove any nicks or burrs on front surface of bearing housing
