Disassembly
[] 1Remove the starter lockout lever assembly2Pull out and knot the starter rope[] 3Allow the rope to rewind into the starter housing until the knot is against the housing[] 4Remove the rope anchor
from the starter handle
5Remove the rope from the anchorSlide starter handle off rope
rn 6Remove screws, bracket to starter housing[] 7Remove the timing pointer
and pulley support
11 8Wear safety glasses while servicing the manual starter[] 9Pull the starter rope until it is completely extendedUsing C-clamp and wood blocks, clamp the starter pulley in this position[] 10Untie the knot in the starter rope and remove rope11 Carefully loosen the clamp and allow the starter spring to slowly unwind
