S.L.OWarning System
This ignition system incorporates the S.L.oWTM warning system, which gradually limits engine speed to approximately 2500 RPM when engine temperature exceeds 203 (95 C) on V4 models, 212 (1000 C) on V6, V8 modelsTo resume normal operation after the S.L.oWwarning system has activated, turn the engine off and allow it to cool to 1620 (72 C) on V4 models, 1700 (7r C) on V6, V8 modelsThe S.L.OWwarning system depends on input from the port or starboard temperature switch tan lead Functional Test
1Disconnect port and starboard temperature switch tan leads2Install correct test propellerStart engine in test tank and run at 3500 RPM3Attach port engine harness tan lead to clean engine ground Engine must slow to approximately 2500 RPM4Stop engine5Start engine and repeat Steps and using starboard tan lead: Engine must slow to approximately 2500 RPM If Steps and are normaltest temperature switchRefer to Temperature Switch Test, Section If one of the tests is normal, check engine harness and connectors If neither test is normal, go to Step 66Loosen power pack and remove power coil orange and orangeblack leads from terminal strip
