Idle Speed
The air silencer cover must be installed to accurately adjust the engine's idle speed
1The boat and engine must be in the water under normal operating conditions with the correct propeller installedThe boat's movement must be unrestrainedThe boat must not be tied to dock or trailer2Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperatureThe engine temperature must be above 96 (36 C) before proceeding3Check idle RPM in FORWARD gear with an accurate tachometer
4Stop the engineLoosen locknut and adjust the idle speed screw Refer to chart for idle speed Turn screw clockwise to decrease idle speed Turn screw counterclockwise to increase idle speedIdle Speed V6 650 50 600 100 Timing Range to ATDC to ATDC
